Urgent Potential Fraud Warning - prostate cancer patients contacted on NHS headed letters

Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance have advised they have received notification from a couple of prostate cancer patients over the past few days who have been contacted on NHS headed letters asking questions about their prostate cancer and then asking for bank details.

This has included patients from more than one trust. It isn't clear how the patient details have been obtained, but is has been referred to NHS Fraud urgently. However, there is considerable risk that a much wider group of prostate cancer patients may have been targeted.
